The World Needs To Know – Galadima Reveals How Buhari Made Abba Yusuf Kano Governor

Buba Galadima

A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has claimed that contrary to public perception, it was the late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, who ensured that Abba Kabir Yusuf emerged as Governor of Kano State.Galadima said Buhari played a decisive role in preventing the alleged attempt by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to overturn the NNPP’s victory in the 2023 governorship election, as he claimed was done in 2019.

Speaking on Arise News, Galadima, who is the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the NNPP, said divine intervention worked through Buhari to stop what he described as a repeat of electoral injustice in Kano.

Galadima Buhari

According to Galadima Buhari was instrumental in the controversial outcome of the 2019 Kano governorship election, which he alleged was taken from Abba Yusuf and handed to the then-governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.“Unknown to many Nigerians, it was General Buhari who took our victory in 2019 and gave it to Ganduje,” he said. He, however, noted that the former president later ensured that history did not repeat itself in 2023.“General Buhari was the architect of making Abba Kabir Yusuf the governor of Kano State,” Galadima added.

Why Buhari Turned Against Ganduje

Galadima alleged that Buhari withdrew support for Ganduje after the former Kano governor publicly insulted him.According to him, Ganduje had used a popular Hausa song to mock Buhari without mentioning his name.“It was Ganduje, using his own words, who abused Buhari,” Galadima said.He explained that Ganduje allegedly referred to Buhari as ‘Abuna Abu’, a term derived from a song by the late Hausa musician Alhaji Mohammed of Katsina, which describes an irresponsible drunk.

Outstanding Drunkard

“Abuna abu is an outstanding drunkard who will go to the bar, drink, walk naked on the streets, sleep on the road or under a tree,” he said.Galadima claimed that Buhari was deeply hurt by the insult, especially after previously backing Ganduje’s victory in 2019.According to the NNPP chieftain, when attempts were allegedly made to deny Abba Yusuf victory again in 2023, Buhari intervened decisively.

Buhari Felt Bitter

“Buhari felt bitter, and when we won the election and they wanted to take it again, Buhari put down his feet and said, ‘That boy won election in 2019, we took it away. Now he won again, give him his victory,’” Galadima said.He further alleged that the former Director-General of the Department of State Services, Magaji Bichi, was aware of the developments.“If Magaji Bichi can fear God, he can narrate the story. And when he writes his memoir, he needs to put that,” he added.

Court Of Appeal

Galadima also spoke extensively about the legal battles that followed the election, alleging interference in the judicial process.“They took us to court. The tribunal came to give judgment in our favour. They abducted them, brought them to Abuja and gave them a written judgment,” he claimed. He added that the NNPP lost at the Court of Appeal due to what he described as intimidation but found relief at the Supreme Court.“We went to the Supreme Court. Three judges out of the panel of five said they would never cause a bloodbath in Kano,” Galadima stated.According to him, the judges acknowledged that Abba Yusuf’s 2019 victory was unjustly taken away and resolved not to be complicit in injustice again.

“This time, they could not be alibi to injustice, so Abba Yusuf was made the governor of Kano through the processes of court and through the assistance of Buhari,” he said.

The World Needs To Know Abba Left ‘House Of God’

Galadima also criticised Abba Yusuf’s recent political moves, claiming the governor had abandoned divine guidance for political alliances.“The world needs to know because Abba Yusuf left the house of God and went to the house of Tinubu. He left God for a human being,” he said.He warned that reliance on political power rather than divine justice could have consequences.

“Now they’re telling people that even if we win election in 2027, the APC will take it. So why don’t we join them?” Galadima said.“Meaning that he has forsaken God and the ability of God to do justice. Even if they announce him, it is a temporary victory. God will visit him,” he added.
